Greetings on behalf of the Association of the Ecclesiastical Libaries in Hungary. We don’t know what has brought you here, maybe the term „ecclesiastial” or the word „library”, or their special combination. We are happy to welcome you to our website. As anywhere in the world, ecclesiastical libraries represent special values. The history of the Hungarian libraies starts with that of those owned by churches and and the material that has been preserved in these collections are part of the Hungarian cultural heritage. We think that the history of our libraries, just as that of other collections in post-Communist contries, might be interesting n ot only for professionals but also for other visitors. Our Association was formed in 1994 and we have celebrated our 10th anniversary this year. Our website gives further information about our history and activities. |
